I find it quite fascinating how quickly one can reach the point where we pretty much have everything we need in life. The difference between feeling poor and no longer worrying about money is pretty much just having zero dollars in the bank or ten grand in savings. With 10k in the bank, there is nothing in our lives that we can't afford to fix or replace, right? Sure, it might hurt us a little, but then not really, because it doesn't change the way you live your day-to-day when you know you have money coming in next month, and enough savings to last you until then. In the same way, imagine how little there would be in an apocalypse that you would even want, and not be able to afford. Cars are out of the question after a few years, and the housing market would be a lot more relaxed with more houses than people alive. There's food, bullets, entertainment to take care of - but what would you even spend money on?
